A NYC Upper Westsider, born in Boston, Massachusetts, a graduate of Boston Girls’ Latin School, Boston University summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and Columbia University Teachers College. A former teacher of modern European History and a consultant for the College Board’s Advanced Placement Program, publishing articles and student guides. Currently, an avid, self-taught photographer. Photography themes include natural landscapes and peopled cityscapes mainly in New York City and upstate New York. A contributor to Mirrorless Photo Tips, a former online blog about the real-world experience of using mirrorless cameras and to the West Side Rag, an online newspaper for the Upper West Side in NYC. Photos have been selected for juried exhibitions at the following: Photoplace Gallery and Dark Room Gallery in Vermont, Praxis Gallery in Minnesota, PH21 Gallery in Budapest, Upstream Gallery in New York, New England School of Photography in Massachusetts, South by Southeast Gallery in South Carolina, Black Box Gallery in Oregon, and 1650 Gallery in California, as well as included to illustrate story and poetry in the New York Times Metropolitan Diary. An exhibition on winter seed heads was presented at a New York library in 2017.
