Susan Rosenberg Jones began photographing with intention as a child.
She was born and raised in Boston, and moved to New York City in 1976. She holds a BS in Education from Lesley College and has taken many photography workshops and classes, mainly at the International Center of Photography.
In 2011 Susan began work on Building 1, a body of work about her neighbors in the apartment complex in Tribeca where she’d lived with her family since 1984. In 2012, she began shooting in her own home, and her husband Joel was a willing subject. From this practice, Second Time Around emerged. Susan was named a Critical Mass 2017 Top 50 Photographer for Second Time Around.
In addition to life in the home, Susan enjoys photographing on NYC beaches, where the hustle bustle abates and city dwellers relax. Her most recent project, Widow/er, is focused on men and women who have lost their partners and are dealing with the grief, whether recent or not.
