I am a Canadian-born artist and photographer based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Photography has always played a role, but became central to my life after moving to Japan and traveling through Southeast Asia and India. It was during this time, I found myself wanting to record my experiences and to celebrate, through photographs, the beautiful people I crossed paths with. I became an apprentice for a traditional Japanese artist in Tokyo, Japan, a role that spanned the course of 10 years. Studying painting shaped the way I now photograph scenes and characters on the street. Sometimes I feel I try to frame people in the same way in which I would paint them.
My photographic work has been exhibited in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, Spain, Italy and the U.S. and has been printed in various publications worldwide.
